March Forth!

Hello March! The change in season need not spell a change in expecting great entertainment. From bold fashions to culinary exploits and benefit concerts, there is much to look forward to every week of this month.

The much-adored Africa Fashion International will be hosting their first fashion week of the year at Cape Town International Convention Centre from 12- 14 March. There’s much to look forward to from new and established names in the industry from across the continent.

On 19 March from 18:00- 21:00, you can enjoy live music and dinner with Lazarus. Kumbali Country Lodge in Lilongwe, Malawi will be hosting an exclusive music and dinner event with the talented up and coming international musician so book early to avoid disappointment

21- 28 March will be tasty days lined with delicacies prepared by Michelin starred chefs and other talents at the 15th annual Constance Culinary Festival. Mauritius is not just home to picturesque beaches, it is also regarded for having an exceptional fine dining heritage. So as far as this festival is concerned, the only two words Afrophilia has for you are: “come hungry!”

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival will warm up the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 27- 28 March. As is expected, the festival will be complemented by a free concert in Greenmarket Square. Here locals and tourists, alike, can take to the streets, mingle and hit up local karaoke bars. The 2020 line-up includes Abdullah Ibrahim, Lira, Lady Zamar, the Ndlovu Youth Choir and many more internationally acclaimed artists. Book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Bringing hope and life to the homeless on 28 March from 18:00, award-winning Ghanaian songstress Adina Thembi will be teaming up with local NGO Ahaban GLF to raise fund for its monthly shelter program. The concert will feature the likes of Camidoh, The Characters Band, highlife band Kwan Pa, Okyeame Kwame, Kidi & others. Proceeds from the concert will go towards the Mobile Shelter Program, which provides food, clothing, health education and medical treatment to homeless men, women and children across Ghana.
